Do it yourself dna testing

DNA testing was popularized only in recent years mainly due to having it extremely handy when it comes to high-profile criminal investigations as well as in paternity cases. DNA, otherwise known as deoxyribonucleic acid, is most commonly used in trying to prove the relationship of an individual to another person, that linking is aimed at trying to determine whether or not those two people are related or not.

1. New Testing Methods

There are also various new tests that have been created in recent years, however, which have also turned to DNA testing, a highly popular tool for determining a person’s ancestry. As DNA is passed down from one generation of your family to the next, there are some parts that still remain almost unchanged. This creates the highly unbreakable link between family generations and through DNA testing. DNA testing can also be of great help when trying to reconstruct one’s family history

2. Paternity Tests

However, DNA testing, in spite of its many benefits is not able to provide you with your entire family tree or be able to tell you who your ancestors are. DNA testing can, however, determine if you are related to the other person whom you have the test with. DNA testing can also determine if you and that other person have a same ancestor. DNA testing will also be able to provide you with the information that you will be needing in order to prove or negate the research you have been able to obtain about your family tree. Lastly, through DNA testing, you will be provided with clues in regards to your ethnic origin.

3. How DNA Testing Works

DNA testing has been around for so many years yet is has only gotten quite a following only recently since a lot of people can not afford the incredibly high rates that they will be charged for their DNA testing. However, there are home DNA testing kits which can either be ordered through the mail or even over the internet at a price which is still befitting of one’s budget (less that $300 to be exact) and all you have to do is to just be able to obtain a sample of your cells through a cotton swab or through a mouthwash, it really is fairly easy to do.

Then you have to be able to send those samples back to the lab for your DNA testing wherein you will have to wait for around a month or even two months before you get the results of your DNA testing. The DNA testing results are a series of numbers that represent the key chemical markers within your DNA. These numbers can be compared with the results from other individuals who took the DNA test in order to help you determine your ancestry.

When it comes to DNA testing, one must be extremely patient waiting for the results - and whatever the result you get from your DNA test, just accept it as the tests are over 99% accurate.

What am i doing wrong in relationships

They say breaking up is hard to do. Break-ups are very common in fact sadly enough, it happens to everyone at some point in time. For many women, relationships coming to an end are hard due to lack of closure. So very often, they are left wondering what they did wrong.

While I can't be a miracle worker this area I can provide some very common mistakes that women tend to make. It’s not complete, but it's definitely a good insight. Continue to read and evaluate how you’ve been doing on the dating game.

1. Thinking you can change who he is.

Many women get involved with men with undesirable habits, and cling to the relationship hoping that he’ll improve with time. They tend to feel like the man requires the woman's help in order to change.

Well, that's actually not how it works. You see, women are attracted to a man not by how nice or good he is, but by gut feelings. She 'feels' that her man is nice and good deep inside, and that they can remedy the shortcomings if they tried hard enough.

Sadly, this gut feeling doesn’t exactly translate to a deep connection with him. In other words, trying to change him is like trying to teach a pig to sing - it wastes time, it doesn’t work, and it annoys the pig.

Gut feelings are well and good, but it’s better to trust your intuition instead.

2. Assuming good looks are enough.

Women tend to think that men only care about an attractive physical appearance. Also, many women think that men aren't very verbally communicative. Therefore many women resort to using provacative body language to gain a man's attention which gives off the wrong impression.

It’s not that simple. Looks may be most obvious way to get the train started, but it's hardly the best way. The right thing to do is to use a combination of verbal communication and body language. It takes practice, but a man is less likely to be smitten by a beautiful woman than by a beautiful woman who can also carry a good conversation.

3. Acting like someone that you are not.

I may be stating the obvious, but it's worth repeating: Men aren't happy in a relationship if the woman isn't happy herself. A woman should never lose herself by trying to satisfy a man's every need and desire. A man can't have respect for a woman that isn't confident of who she is. Acting like a prostitute or a slave won't get you anywhere.

4. Being too honest too fast.

Almost all successful, physically attractive, and single guys have healthy dating lives. So women who raise the most red flags are the ones that give too much information on the second or third date. For example: women who say, 'I really feel like I'm falling for you', too easily and too early. It gives off an idea that she’s a clingy type who rushes into relationships.

The smartest thing to do would be to ease up and let the relationship mature on it's own.

5. Not seeing the signs.

Men subconsciously show signs that indicating how evolved your relationship is. The signs give clues on how ready he is to go further in your relationship. BY watching him closely and accurately judging what he says, you may find out where he is coming from.

(a) The Social level - he talks about life in general, what he's up to and how he's doing. (b) The Emotional level - he starts giving clues that he's ready to be emotionally available to you. (c) The Physical level - he begins to tell you what and why in reference to the things he likes about you whether it be your body or clothes, etc.. (d) The Love level - he lets you know that he is in it for the long run.

Well, here are the signs. So learn them and know how to answer them for a better relationship next time.

You can be a faith healer

You can learn-almost immediately-to minister healing by faith. Yes, you can learn to minister healing by faith almost immediately.

I believe that any believer can be a faith healer if they will just do what God says...if they will just act upon His word.

Some of my earliest experiences ministering healing by faith came in a denominational church where I was pastor. I gave an invitation in one of our services for those needing healing to come forward. Between twenty and thirty people came forward for healing. Keep in mind please that these dear folk were weak in what the Bible said about healing. But they were ill and came forward anyway.

My message that night was upon being healed by laying on of hands and/or anointing with oil. I proceeded to lay hands upon and anoint with oil all those who came requesting it. As the laying on of hands and the anointing progressed, things began to happen. Healings began to occur.

One young lady said that when I laid hands on her for her healing, she felt heat come from my hands and enter her body. At that exact point in time she said she could feel all the pain and discomfort (caused from her sickness and malady) leave her.

Another person who was standing next to one to whom I was ministering healing said they could feel the healing coming from that person into them also. They too were healed then and there. The power of God was strong in the place that night.

One of these people had migraines that were debilitating to them. Yet they had been unable to get relief anywhere. That night perfect calm came over that person as the pain swiftly went away.

All we were doing was acting on what God said in His word. They simply acted by coming for laying on of hands and anointing with oil and prayer. I simply acted by laying hands on them, anointing them and praying over them. This is the unbeatable combination for healing. Just obey what God says for us to do for our healing.

Of course these are wonderful memories for me. These occurred when I was just starting out in the healing ministry. But even more wonderful and beautiful is this:

God hasn’t changed His ways, His word or His healing delivery methods. These healing delivery methods still work when we work them. They are as valid today and as powerful as they were the first time I used any of them back in the early 80’s.

You can be healed with them now...here...today. You can also (almost immediately) learn how to minister healing to others. Just get your Bible down and learn some of the eight ways God has chosen to heal His children.

Then do what He says do in these Scriptures. When you act out what He said, the healing problem is passed on to Him. He must and will heal. You can learn to minister faith healing.

Shopping with coupons cash in and save

Many people are able to save 50% or more off their grocery bills by shopping with coupons. But it takes more than just cutting the coupons out of the newspaper or stashing them in a file box when they come in the mail. In order to get maximum savings from your coupons, you have to be organized, and you have to know what you need and what you will use.

First, get organized. Remove circulars from the newspapers and put them in a separate place. Same thing with coupons that come in the mail or that you have printed out from online. Designate a specific time once or twice a week to do your coupons. When that time comes, they’ll all be in the same place. Clip the ones you need and will use, toss the ones you won’t, like pet food if you don’t have pets, or brands that your family doesn’t like. Saving money on something is useless if your family won’t eat it and it will end up in the trash anyway. Then sort them by category. It is best to do this in order of the way things appear in the store you go to for the bulk of your shopping. There are a million and one coupon organizers and file caddies out there. It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive, just find one that works for you.

Most people will plan their shopping in this order. First they plan their meals, then they look through the circulars for items on sale, then they pull their coupons. If you want to use coupons more efficiently, go backwards. If chicken breasts and stuffing are on sale and you have a coupon for stuffing, chicken breasts and stuffing should be one of your meals that week. Plan your meals according to the savings available. Of course, for things that are nonperishable or can be frozen and you have the space for them, you can stock up on extras anytime. For these items, buy when they are on sale and you have a coupon for double savings.

Start a price book comparing the regular per unit price at different stores of items that you buy on a regular basis so you can be sure you are getting the best deal. This may take some time, but will save you big bucks in the long run. One misconception that many people have is that buying in bulk is cheaper. When bulk items and warehouse stores first started, this was often true. Manufacturers and retailers have realized that most people have this mindset and now price smaller size items for less per unit, making a larger profit of people blindly buying the bulk size. Using coupons for these smaller sizes can end up saving you more per unit.

School shootings aren t caused by the type of student that the media tells you about

Teachers, principals and counselors: As most of you are aware, some of the recent school shootings were apparently committed by students who were not known for their acting - out behaviors, but instead for their relatively quiet withdrawal and depression. We have gotten quite a few calls asking for explanations. Youth professionals are often more accustomed to preventing and addressing violence from acting-out youth, and may feel less prepared to prevent or address violence from other types of youth.

Here are some of the questions we have been receiving at our office and in our workshop:

Question: Why are some depressed, withdrawn kids becoming suddenly violent?

Answer: Perhaps some of these kids are like pressure cookers that build up so much steam that they literally explode. Many professionals are used to seeing serious youth depression that includes withdrawal, lethargy, reduced verbiage, reduced activity levels, self-harm and/or threats of self-harm, and comments reflecting hopelessness and despair. But, some depressed youngsters may explode out of that "acting-in" into serious acting-out.

Question: Our staff has had a lot of training on preventing and managing violence by acting - out students such as conduct disorders. Is there much difference working with students who normally act in?

Answer: Yes, it is almost a completely different process. Perhaps the two most compelling difference are these: First, there may be fewer overt cues to help you spot the acting-in student before the violence occurs. Second, the way you work with the two sets of students should be completely different. So, no, you can't just extrapolate your training on conduct disordered youth, for example, to depressed students.

Question: How does my school or agency know if we are prepared as best as possible to avoid serious violence from acting-in students?

Answer: Your staff should be able to identify at least three types of students who may be at highest risk of extreme violence, and how they must work differently with each type. There is no substitute for gaining a more sophisticated understanding of your different populations and also learning which tools to use with each type of youth.

Question: Some states are now considering laws that will mandate how schools discipline bullies. Will that be a big help?

Answer: Not necessarily. Your depressed student doesn't always blow up over one single problem like being harassed by peers. A better solution might be to educate youth professionals to understand how the peer harassment affects the vulnerable youngster, but also teach all about that student, not just this one element. It is unlikely that there is a quick and simple fix to the serious and complex emotional problems that developed over the entire child's lifetime. The better solution would be to ensure that all youth professionals have a complete and sophisticated understanding of their different types of kids. Professional development classes like ours' are designed to efficiently do that. There may not be any easy shortcuts or bypasses to updating staff skills.

Question: So stopping bullying is not the whole answer to stopping serious violence by acting - in students?

Answer: That is correct. While it is a definite help, remember that it doesn't always take a "big thing" to set these kids off. Sometimes, the triggering event can be as simple as "that girl didn't look at me." Unfortunately, "the straw that broke the camel's back" phenomenon can often occur.

Question: Can you list at least a few key do's and don't's on preventing violence with depressed youth?

Answer: This list is absolutely no substitute for a thorough understanding.

Some DON'Ts:

Don't add to their burdens; Don't permit them to face unnecessary problems like endless peer harassment; Don't ignore the often quiet signs of major depression (many are noted above); Don't pressure them; Don't forget about them-- the quiet ones so often go unnoticed.

Some DO's:

Do involve them in talking out problems to avoid building up problems; Do involve them in exercise; Do have them evaluated for anti-depressant medication; Do teach them coping and social skills (including peer interaction skills); Do build a strong bond; and, in the words of one depressed youth, Do "make it safe, make it okay."

Want more information on depressed youth and violence? This isn't a topic that is widely covered-- especially if you are seeking practical tools, not just theory. The fastest, most thorough solution we know about is our Breakthrough Strategies Workshop (live or on tape). It is a very thorough resource that puts you in the depressed child's world, and gives you specific do's and don't's. It would hopefully reduce the "guess work" and guide you through your interactions with this student. Visit youthchg. com/live. html for more info.
